RESCUE: Ocean Viking

The 76 ft. long fishing vessel Ocean Viking sank near Kodiak, AK on June 26, 2013. The crew activated their McMurdo EPIRB, donned their Imperial Survival Suits, deployed and boarded their 6-Person Guardian Liferaft, and signaled the USCG MH-60 Jayhawk search and rescue helicopter with Pains-wessex pyrotechnics. All of which are products manufactured by Survitec, serviced and supplied by Marine Safety Services. The crew of 4 and dog were all rescued safely by USCG and returned with no serious injury.

RESCUE: Vessel Kupreanof

The 80' Tender Kupreanof sank early Wednesday, June 10, 2015. The crew can be seen displaying calm preparedness in an emergency situation, beginning the evacuation by jumping into their Imperial immersion suits. The raft quickly deploys.

The ship sank rapidly, so the crew did not have much time to act. Fortunately, they continued to keep level demeanors and moved quickly through the evacuation process, jumping overboard, but remaining protected against rough seas and cold temperatures in their immersion suits.Fortunately, the Coast Guard was on the scene within minutes, and each member of the 4-person crew was individually picked from their raft and air lifted to an MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter.
