Astronaut Bill Anders visits, one of the first three people to ever leave the earth's orbit and travel to the moon, swung by our shop for a life raft the other day. Shawn couldn't help but jump at the photo op with one of our nation's living legends. Thanks for your service to our nation, Bill, and thanks for choosing Marine Safety Services!
The 76 ft. long fishing vessel Ocean Viking sank near Kodiak, AK on June 26, 2013. The crew activated their McMurdo EPIRB, donned their Imperial Survival Suits, deployed and boarded their 6-Person Guardian Liferaft, and signaled the USCG MH-60 Jayhawk search and rescue helicoptor with Pains-wessex pyrotechnics. All of which are products manufactured by Survitec, serviced and supplied by Marine Safety Services. The crew of 4 and dog were all rescued safely by USCG and returned with no serious injury.
Have you ever kicked back, grabbed the remote control, and saw the fruits of your labor right there on the television screen?
That's what happened to us when we spotted multiple pieces of Marine Safety equipment on Discovery Channel's Alaskan Bush People. Thanks for choosing Marine Safety Services -- official life raft"to the stars"!
The 80' Tender Kupreanof sank early Wednesday, June 10, 2015. The crew can be seen displaying calm preparedness in an emergency situation, beginning the evacuation by jumping into their Imperial immersion suits. The raft quickly deploys.
The ship sank rapidly, so the crew did not have much time to act. Fortunately, they continued to keep level demeanors and moved quickly through the evacuation process, jumping overboard, but remaining protected against rough seas and cold temperatures in their immersion suits.Fortunately, the Coast Guard was on the scene within minutes, and each member of the 4-person crew was individually picked from their raft and air lifted to an MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter.
